What is the order process?
At AnnouncingYou we want your announcement or invitation order to be as pain-free as possible. Please let us know if we can assist in any way.

Our order process is very simple. Select the design you wish to purchase, fill in the personalization fields. If you are pre-ordering or wish to work directly with the designer for your text you may leave this section blank. Complete the checkout process. You will be directed to our photo upload page upon checkout completion. You may upload your photos or you may email us the photos if you prefer to orders@announcingyou.com.

What type of paper will be used for my announcement/invitation?
Announcing You only prints on stationery card stock. We do not print anything on photo paper. Our standard card stock is a smooth, slightly gloss 100 lb cardstock. It is not glossy but does have a sheen to it. We offer three different upgrade options (not available on all products)

- Watercolor: a matte (no shine at all!) slightly rough texture, similar to a parchment type finish. This card stock adds a very sophisticated feel to our birth announcements and invitations. Because of the texture finish we recommend using this upgrade only with photos that have strong contrast since this will smooth out edges and may lose fine details.

- Linen: also a matte texture with a woven appearance.  This card stock has no shine at all and gives your announcements and invitations that extra touch of sophistication.

- Pearlescent: our heaviest/thickest card stock. Our pearlescent card stock is a matte finish with a glimmery undertone. We recommend this upgrade for photos with sharper contrast and for cards where the colors are in strong contrast as well. The pearlescent appearance softens details but is absolutely stunning when used with higher contrast designs.

What is the turnaround time?
You will receive your first proof within 48 hours of processing your order and uploading your photos. We will work as quickly as possible to provide any additional proofs that you request for changes. (see our Order Information link above for our proofing policies). We will send to print once you approve a final proof. All orders are shipped within 5 business days of the final proof being approved. (we may extend this timeframe during peak holiday seasons. A prominent notice will be placed on our main page if we are operating under anything other than our standard 5 business days).

Should I crop or edit my photos?
We highly recommend you upload your original photos to us. If you have a preference for cropping you can upload a cropped copy of the photo along with the original as an example for your designer.

Are your cards flat or folded?
Most of our cards are flat but we do offer folded cards as well (mainly in our thank you notes area). All cards are flat unless specifically stated otherwise in the product description.  If you would like to discuss a folded version of any of our designs please contact us at info@announcingyou.com and we will be happy to give you further details and pricing.

Do these cards require extra postage?
Our standard 4" x 5.5" and 5" x 7" announcements and invitations do not require additional postage. 5" x 5" cards do require additional postage. The United States Postal Service charges additional for square envelopes. We will note this in the description field of the individual product if it requires extra postage.

Can I pre-order envelopes?
yes, there is a pre-order envelopes product listed in the related products area of each item.  If you choose to pre-order envelopes we will immediately package and ship the envelopes to you. When you are ready to complete your order simply upload your photos and our designers will begin working on your proof.

What is printed on the back of the card?
Announcing You takes great pride in printing our designs both front and back. There will always be a solid color or additional design printed on the back of your birth announcements and invitations. When viewing a product you can see the back image by clicking "View More Images" below the main product image. We now offer to add photos and text to the back of our designs.

Will you edit my photo?
Yes. Announcing You offers complimentary photo editing for every photo used in your announcements or invitations. We will remove red eye, smooth complexions, brighten/lighten, sharpen contrast, etc.   If you do not wish for us to edit your photos simply note that in the comments area of your order.


Will the colors in the printed card be exactly what I see on my monitor?
As you may know, monitor settings can vary tremendously in terms of brightness, contrast and even colors. For this reason, it is impossible to say that your cards will match exactly what you see on screen.

How do you protect my information when ordering?
AnnouncingYou.com uses our own security certificate ensuring that the sensitive data you transmit is encrypted and will not be captured.

AnnouncingYou.com also uses a merchant account service as well as PayPal to securely process your credit card information. We never see your credit card number in its entirety thus protecting you from unauthorized charges.

Can I make changes to the designs?
While AnnouncingYou is not in the business of custom designs for each order we will work with you to make changes. We will adjust the design to accommodate additional text or change of photo orientation if it is possible without compromising the look of the design. We will also change font type, font colors as well as colors within the design.

We now offer to add text or photos to the back of a design.

If the changes you are requesting require extensive re-work to a design we will work with you to discuss options. Extensive re-design may result in extra charges but we will not proceed with such charges without your approval.

Can I place an order by phone?
Announcing You does not accept orders by phone. For the security of your credit card information we prefer that you use our secure site to process orders. If you would like to discuss options before placing your order we are available via our toll-free number listed here on the site. We can assist you with the order process but the actual payment must be processed on the site.

Where all do you ship to?
We currently ship only to the 50 United States via United States Postal Service


Are the designs at AnnouncingYou all unique from other sites?
With the exception of a few templates that we have purchased commercial license to print, our designs are all original. We do purchase commercial license for design elements to use in our designs. We want to thank Tina Parker, Shabby Princess, DesignFruit, Atomic Cupcake, Kay Miller, Nitwit Collections for contributing elements to our designs. We are inspired by your talents.
